Privacy
FictionForge has no accounts, no logins and no database of users. Here is everything that happens with your data.
Random generators
Prompts, names, characters, plots, twists, titles, starters and settings are generated by code running in your browser. Nothing you click is sent anywhere.
AI features
When you press an AI button (write a story, build a profile, outline a plot, write dialogue, suggest titles, describe a setting, write a backstory, or "Unstick me"), the text you entered is sent to our server and forwarded to a language model through Vercel's AI Gateway to generate the reply. We don't save your text or the reply. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and errors) to run the service and enforce a fair-use limit. Please don't paste personal or confidential information.
Your notebook
Items you save with the bookmark button are stored in your browser's localStorage on this device only. We can't see them. They stay until you delete them here or on the notebook page, or clear your browser data.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookie-free and doesn't track you across sites.
